ShowMax is one of the latest entrants to the super beautiful world of video streaming here in Kenya. ShowMax is still a little open streaming Platform, but its first programs are worth the detour.
We’ve heard a lot about ShowMax storming competitors here locally, to be precise, the likes of Netflix and the locally made Viusasa, but the comparison isn’t quite right. ShowMax has gone to great lengths to offer subscribers the best possible video and audio output. The compression is amazing and does not show any artefacts or apparent problems in the image.

The Platform prioritizes brand customers who will access its variety of shows depending on the package you are willing to pay for. Showmax mobile at KES 300, Showmax at KES 760, ShowMax pro mobile at KES 1050, and Showmax Pro plan at KES 2100. Lastly, there is also the ShowMax and Safaricom Package, which only starts at KES 389.
The service is only available from the TV application on iOS, Mac and the Apple TV box, gaming consoles, laptops, and even smartphones and Tablets. The software also includes movies, series, and football matches that can be watched offline to save on your private data.
How to Pay for Showmax Via M-Pesa
The Platform has a variety of Payment methods that you can comfortably use to enjoy its services. From Card payments, vouchers, and Mobile wallets such as M-PESA. Here in Kenya, the use of the Pay Bill is the easiest way.
- Go to you your M-PESA
- Choose “Lipa na M-PESA” option
- Tap on the “Pay Bill” option
- Enter 852552 as the business number
- For the account number, put your phone number and Enter your Pin
- An email will be sent to your mail address confirming the payment
For one reason or another, Safaricom’s new M-Pesa app is my most preferred method because it saves a person the hustle of remembering various pay bills.
- Install the showmax App from your favourite App store(Appstore or Google Play)
- Open the application
- Tap on the Pay Icon as seen on the top centre of the application
- Select Paybill as the first option
- On the search Box, search for Showmax
- Enter your account number, which is your phone number, and follow the rest of the process
