In a country with high unemployment rates, Kenyan employers are incredibly choosy about who they want in their workforce. Kenyan Employers wish to the top graduates from the best universities across the country to avoid high on-the-job-training costs and incompetency in terms of skills and knowledge. Universities with the highest employability rate for their graduates are furthermore the most preferred by students who are already in employment and those who are registering for undergraduate programmes.
The University of Nairobi in the capital is the most preferred university in Kenya by employers, supplying the highest number of graduates in the Kenya’s job market and the top go-to source for hiring new staff. For every 10 jobs available, eight of the spots are likely to be taken up by public university graduates, particularly those from the University of Nairobi. At the same time, the other two will probably go to private institutions like Mount Kenya University.
