Kenya is one of the richest countries in Africa, and the country is well developed with a good number of international airports.

This is a complete list of international airports in Kenya. The country is home to a number of state-of-the-art international standard airports that are equipped with customs clearance offices and immigration facilities to handle international flights that allow passengers to travel between different countries.

Here is a list of international airports in Kenya.

1. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is one of the biggest airports in continental Africa. It is the flagship airport of the Kenya Airports Authority(KAA). It is Africa’s premier hub, and the airport is an ideal gateway into and out of East and Central Africa. It is Kenya’s largest flight facility and the busiest airport in East Africa. JKIA boasts of over 40 passenger airlines daily and 25 cargo airlines.

2. Kisumu International Airport

The airport is located northwest of Kisumu City in Western Kenya. It is bordered on the western and the southern sides by Lake Victoria and on the northern and eastern sides by the main road (Kisumu Busia highway) to Uganda via the Kisumu-Busia route.

3. Eldoret International Airport

The airport is found about 16 kilometers from Eldoret Town, on the Eldoret-Kisumu road. It was constructed with the vision of achieving accelerated economic growth in the region through integration and opening up of the Western parts to local and international markets. Currently, the international airport has three scheduled international cargo flights and numerous ad hoc freighters per week.

4. Moi International Airport

Moi International Airport is found in Mombasa and is a town considered a premier tourism hub in the East Africa region. The airport was developed to handle long haul international aviation. It handles the tremendous traffic of planes, with more than 18 airlines flying directly from and to Europe.

5. Malindi International Airport

The airport is found about 2.5 kilometres from Malindi Town, off the Mombasa-Malindi road on the southern parts where the access road is connected. The airport is presently on an expansion plan to attract direct international flights to Kenya, specifically to cater to tourists flocking the Coastal town for a holiday.

6. Isiolo International Airport

It is located on the border of Isiolo County and in Meru County. The airport was first opened in July 2017 after a Ksh 2.7 billion upgrade.
