Early Life and Education
Donald John Trump was born in Queens, New York on June 14, 1946, to Frederick and Mary Trump. Frederick was a real estate developer, while Mary was a socialite and philanthropist. Mary Anne MacLeod immigrated to the United States from Tong, Scotland, in 1929 when she was 17 years old. She married Fred Trump in 1936, and the couple settled in Jamaica, Queens, which was a neighborhood of Western European immigrants at the time. As the family’s wealth grew, Mary became a New York socialite and philanthropist. She passed away in 2000.
